Privacy policy

This policy explains how Sweet Addison's LLC ("Sweet Addison's," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit sweetaddisons.com, place an order, use an account or subscription, sign up for messages, or contact us. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, including your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, account details, order and subscription information, reviews, marketing preferences, and customer service messages. Payment providers process payment card details; we receive payment confirmation and transaction information. We do not ask customers for their date of birth or gender.

When you use the site, we and our service providers collect device and browser information, IP addresses, cookie identifiers, approximate location, referring pages and ad links, pages and products viewed, shopping cart and checkout activity, and purchases. Marketing links may contain click identifiers that help connect an ad or message with a visit or purchase. We also receive information from Shopify, payment and shipping providers, and advertising, analytics, and marketing partners.

Some information is needed to complete an order or provide a requested service. If you choose not to provide it, we may be unable to provide that service.

How we use information

We use personal information to process and deliver orders, manage accounts and subscriptions, provide customer support, send service messages, prevent fraud, keep our site secure, and meet legal obligations. We also use information to improve the site, recommend products, send marketing where permitted, measure advertising, and show relevant ads, including retargeting visitors and reaching similar audiences. These uses are subject to your choices and applicable law.

Advertising and analytics

Our site uses advertising and measurement services from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (Google Ads, YouTube, and Google Analytics), TikTok, Snapchat, and Pinterest. These services can receive browsing and shopping activity, device and browser details, IP addresses, cookie and advertising identifiers, and purchase information such as products, value, and currency. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site, including page interactions and session recordings.

Information can be sent through browser pixels and through store or integration servers, including Meta's Conversions API. Where available and permitted, contact and customer identifiers may be used to match activity with an account on an advertising platform. Some identifiers are hashed before transmission. Hashing converts a value into a coded form; it does not make it anonymous or prevent the receiving platform from matching it with information it already has. We do not send full payment card numbers to advertising partners.

These partners process information under their own policies: Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, and Microsoft.

We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing identifiers, internet activity, and purchase information with advertising partners may be a "sale," "sharing," or processing for targeted advertising under state privacy laws. You can opt out as described below.

Cookies and privacy choices

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential store functions, preferences, analytics, and advertising. Essential technologies support functions such as checkout, security, and remembering your cart.

You can accept, decline, or manage non-essential cookies in our cookie banner. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your selection. Our banner is configured for visitors in the United States and the European regions covered by our store's consent settings. Declining does not stop essential processing needed to provide the service you request.

Use Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information to record an opt-out for your browser. The page also provides a way to request an opt-out associated with your email address. We honor recognized Global Privacy Control signals through our store's privacy controls. Browser choices apply to the browser and device you use; repeat your choice if you clear cookies or use another browser or device.

Browser controls do not erase information already shared. Server-side integrations can process information independently of browser cookies. To request an opt-out associated with your customer information, or for help with a choice that is not working, email support@sweetaddisons.com. We will apply your request as required by applicable law.

You can also manage cookies in your browser and adjust advertising preferences with the platforms listed above. Blocking essential cookies may affect the store. See Shopify's cookie policy for information about Shopify cookies.

Email and text messages

We use Klaviyo for email and SMS marketing. It processes contact details, marketing preferences, message interactions, and relevant shopping and purchase activity. With your consent where required, we send promotional messages and may send checkout reminders. Consent to marketing is not a condition of purchase. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in a message, or reply STOP to marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply. We may still send non-promotional order, account, and service communications.

Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties for their own marketing. We share information with service providers as needed to operate the messaging service. Read Klaviyo's privacy notice.

Shopify and other service providers

Shopify hosts the store and processes orders, checkout, payments, account information, and related activity. We also use Shopify Network Intelligence, through which Shopify uses information from interactions with our store together with information from other merchants to improve products, personalization, and advertising services. Shopify processes some information for its own purposes. Read Shopify's privacy policy and visit Shopify's privacy portal to learn about its privacy choices.

Other providers include Judge.me for reviews and Rebuy for product recommendations and shopping features, along with payment processors, shipping and fulfillment providers, subscription services, hosting and IT providers, and customer support tools. These providers receive information needed for their work. We may also disclose information when you direct us to do so, to comply with law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or sale.

AI tools

We use OpenAI's ChatGPT to help create images, write copy, and prepare customer emails. Information included in a prompt or draft is processed by the AI provider. Its use of that information, including whether it may be used to improve models, depends on the product and account settings in use and the provider's terms. Please avoid sending us sensitive information that is not needed for your request.

You can ask for a person to handle your inquiry and request that we not use AI assistance for your customer service correspondence by emailing support@sweetaddisons.com. Read OpenAI's privacy policy.

Reviews and other websites

Reviews and other content you publish may be visible to others. Consider what you include in public content. Links and third-party services have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Retention and security

We retain information for the time reasonably needed to provide services, maintain business records, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention varies with the information and purpose. We may retain a limited record of an unsubscribe or opt-out to honor that preference. Information already received by another company is subject to its retention practices.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. No system or transmission is completely secure. Please do not send full payment card numbers or other unnecessary sensitive information by email.

Children

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of people under 16. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of your information, request correction or deletion, opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, limit certain uses of sensitive information, or withdraw consent. These rights can be subject to exceptions, including information we must keep to complete a transaction or meet legal obligations. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

Email support@sweetaddisons.com to make a request. Describe your request and provide the email address you use with us. We may verify your identity using appropriate account or order information. An authorized agent may submit a request, subject to verification of authority and identity as required. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing the same address with "Privacy appeal" in the subject. You may also contact your state attorney general or other applicable privacy authority.

Location and changes

We are based in the United States and ship to the 50 US states. We do not offer international shipping. If you visit from another country, your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate, subject to applicable law.

We may update this policy as our practices or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated version and effective date here and provide additional notice when required.
